A July Invitation to Worship, Rest & Renewal

July is full, and I am deeply grateful for every opportunity to gather, teach, preach, and make space for renewal.

This month, I’ll be sharing in worship services, celebrating a church anniversary, and meeting with you live through Rhythms of Repair on TikTok. Whether we are gathered in a sanctuary, around a table, or connected online, my prayer is that each space becomes an opportunity to hear God clearly and respond faithfully.

But as the calendar fills, I am also holding close a summer reminder: do not rush past what God is doing right now.

Summer has a way of inviting us to slow our pace just enough to notice. To notice what has changed. To notice what is growing. To notice where God has been faithful, even in ways we did not recognize at first.

Reflection is not simply looking backward. It is a spiritual practice that helps us recognize God’s hand in our present lives. When we reflect, we remember that God has carried us, taught us, corrected us, comforted us, and kept us. Reflection gives language to gratitude and helps us move forward with greater trust.

And rest is not stepping away from purpose. Rest is part of how we remain available to God. It is how we make room for our souls to catch up with the lives we are living. In the rhythms of rest, prayer, reflection, and stillness, we are reminded that God is at work even when we are not striving.

My invitation to you this month is simple: stay present. Stay present to your people. Stay present to your own soul. Stay present to the quiet evidence of God’s provision, guidance, and renewal.
